What is DMX?
Normally DMX is referred to DMX512. It is a data protocol and normally used for transferring sound data or image data. It is widely used for lighting devices and sound devices in stage applications. Nowadays, many people use DMX lights to build wonderful colors for buildings, trees, bridges, parks, etc. Normally there is a master DMX controller in this kind of system. The controller will send the DMX signal to each device. After receiving the signal, the devices will decode it and display the corresponding colors or effects.
What can LED wall washer light do with DMX function?
Normally only RGB LED wall washer light or RGBW LED wall washer light has DMX function. Through the programmable DMX controller, the LED wall washer light can display various kinds of colors and changing effects. And the brightness is also adjustable.
What colors can DMX LED wall washer light display?
DMX RGB/RGBW LED wall washer light can display red, green, blue, white, yellow, pink, purple and millions of mixed colors. It can still display a variety of color changing effects such as fading, jumping, flashing, blinking, etc.
Installation Scheme
DMX LED wall washer lights have two optional voltages: high voltage AC110V/220V and DC24V. Following is the regular installation scheme for high voltage DMX LED wall washer lights. We suggest the power cable carries maximum 5 pieces LED wall washer lights, and the DMX cable carries maximum 50 pieces LED wall washer lights. This depends on the maximum load of your power source or the controller.
For low voltage DMX LED wall washer light, its installation is as following. Because the working voltage of the lights is DC24V, so some AC-DC transformers should be added in the system. We suggest one transformer carries maximum 5 pieces of wall washer light.
The installation scheme is also related to other factors, like wattage or distance between two lights. If you have any questions about the installation, please confirm with us.
DMX Controller
Generally, the DMX controllers are universal. You can use your own controller or buy it from us. Our controller has two working models: SD card model and software model. When it is in SD card model, the controller will run the programs stored in the SD card, and the programs can be chosen via a RF remote control.
When it is in software model, the controller should be connected to a computer and controlled by software. You can build your own programs by using this software.
But for most customers, SD card model has been enough for their needs, unless they have special requirements or need very complicated programs. If you are interested in our controller, you can download its instruction.
